Optimal Design of Adaptive Equalizer Based on DVB-C
Meng Zhang · Video Engineering · 2006
This paper uses classical Constant Modulus Algorithm and Least Mean Algorithm to meet the performance demand of DVB-C standard. The designed equalizer employing decision feedback structure can be applied for 64/256 QAM demodulation and easily realized by VLSI technology. The size and power consumption of the equalizer are largely reduced by the following methods: quantizing the error to 2′s exponent, multiplier multiplexing and pipelining. The results of simulation at the level of algorithm and using 0.25 μm standard cell library show that the designed equalizer can effectively eliminate inter-symbol interference(ISI).
