A Fault Location Method After Regression Testing
Miao Li · Computer Engineering and Science · 2005
The relationship between testing and debugging is a very intimate one. Regression testing is an important activity in the process of software testing and maintenance. Finding a fault in a program is a complex process which involves understanding the program’s purpose, structure, semantics, and the relevant characteristics of failure producing tests. The paper presents a chopping-based method to locate faults, which makes use of testing information and regression test results repetitively, and finds faults via extracting statements which are much smaller than the original program and relevant to particular statements.
