Effects of Exogenous Ca~(2+) on Physiological and Biochemical Characteristics of Cotton Seedlings under Low Temperature Stress

Ying Liu · Anhui nongye kexue · 2010

The cotton seedlings were treated by CaCl2 solution with different concn.and they were stressed by low temperature with 1 ℃ after that. The effects of different treatments on survival rate of cotton seedlings and their malondialdehyde (MDA) content, leakage rate of electrolyte and free proline content were studied. The results showed that the treatment with CaCl2 could obviously decrease the malondialdehyde content and the leakage rate of electrolyte of cotton seedlings, and increase their free proline content and cold resistance under low temperature stress.
