Survey of Multicast Technologies

Multicast communication provides a one to many or many to many data delivery model. As a key supporting technology of the next generation Internet applications, multicast relevant technologies are of interest in the research community. This paper analyses the characteristics of multicast research from distributed system perspective, describes the techniques and difficulties involved in multicast design, and summarizes current work and relevant evolution.
