Survey of Load Balancing Strategies

Load balancing is the key to improving computing efficiency as well as maximum utilization of processors,but software or library for supporting load balancing when developing applications on parallel systems has still lagged behind somewhat and slows the development of parallel computing.The generic load balancing problems are expounded,and an overview of existing load balancing strategies and softwares supporting load balancing strategies are prosented from the view of theory of algorithm and problem of parallel application.In order to conform with the trends of emerging parallel processors architectures and applications,some new research issues for load balancing strategies to be further studied are analyzed and pointed out.
