Application of Adaptive Genetic Algorithm in Aircraft Off-Line Route Planning

Cai Man-yi · Electronics Optics & Control · 2010

Air vehicle route planning is a three-dimensional planning problem with multiple objects and constraints. According to hierarchical path planning, the off-line referenced route path should be determined first before low altitude penetration. To resolve the conflict between partial optimization and global optimization in genetic algorithm,an adaptive genetic algorithm was adopted for the off-line route path planning. The chromosome was constructed by a sequenced of flight directions using a polar coordinate coding mode. In the evolutional process, the adaptive crossover probability and mutation probability were used, and the constraints were taken into consideration as far as possible. The simulation results demonstrate that the algorithm can avoid premature convergence and improve global optimization capability, which is a good method for solving the practical problem in air vehicle off-line route planning.
