The Design and Implementation of a Web Services-based Distributed File System

The objective of this work is to establish a high performance,unlimited capacity,and web-based file storage system for pervasive computing. Our basic approach is to consolidate thousands of file servers distributed on the Internet into a single system,and let all servers collaborate together to provide file service as a whole. The key research issues are highly scalable system architecture and optimizing file operations for performance in wide area network.
