A new dual-mode algorithm for blind equalization

In order to overcome the slow convergence rate and large residual error after convergence of the CMA,we study a dual-mode algorithm for blind equalization based on the CMA and DD.By analyzing the similarity between the CMA and DD,a new switching condition for the dual-mode blind algorithm is proposed.And a new dual-mode blind equalization algorithm based on this new soft switching condition is proposed too.This algorithm makes full uses of the CMA's capability of opening initially closed eye and DD's capabilities of fast convergence rate and lower residual error after convergence.Therefore its performance is better than the CMA,and that is proved by computer simulations with underwater acoustic channels.
