Study on Lightning Protection and Earthing System for Highway Tunnels

On the basis of analyzing the characteristics of lingtning protection and earthing system for hingway tunnels,it is proposed that earthing electrode is composed of the metals of initial support in tunnel such as anchor rods,long-pipe-shed,reinforcing steel net and so on. An overall lightning protection scheme is adopted,inclusive of air-termination system,shield,equipotential bond,parallel branch and common earthing system. The experimental results prove that this scheme is effective,it has practical significance in lightning protection and earthing system for highway tunnels.
