Stream Media Communication System on the IP Network

In order to solve the multicast communication problem caused by many not-multicast-support routers on the IP net, this thesis based on the design and realization of the improved streaming media communication system brings forward two improved plans, that is, IP address based proxy and explicit multicast. The experiments proves that the two improved plans are effective actually and can break through the limitation of multicast caused by many not-multicast-support routers. The experimentally realized streaming media communication system can carry through video-on-demand, alive-broadcast and video-conferencing service successfully on the IP network.
