Infrared image preprocessing algorithm for compressed video

The probability of preprocessing IR video image and compressing video synchronously were discussed. Then an IR image preprocessing algorithm for compressed video in the Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) domain was presented. In this algorithm, compressed IR image was enhanced by low-pass filtering, coefficient transform and contrast stretching in DCT domain. Simulation result shows that the algorithm throws off the time-consuming process of compressing-decompressing-processing, upgrades the performance and responding speed and improves the visual effect of video.
