Intra Prediction Algorithm of H.264/AVC Using Radon Transform

Many factors will affect the coding time in the process of H.264/AVC video coding,such as inter/intra mode decision,rate distortion optimize(RDO) and so on.The reference program from JVT(Joint Video Team) used the full search algorithm for intra prediction which is an algorithm with high complexity.To solve this problem,a new fast intra prediction algorithm based on Radon transform is proposed in this paper.Experiment results show that the proposed fast algorithm can achieve remarkable computation reduction while maintaining similar PSNR and bit rate performance.
