Study of difference between the recommendation G.729 and the recommendation G.723.1

This paper introduced the main uses of recommendation G.729 and recommendation G.723.1, and their own algorithms at firsts, then compared the aspects of the code rate, LP analysis, the delay and the me-(thod) of encoding in the G.729 standard and G.723.1 standard. In the LP analysis, it states mainly the diffe-(rence) in the windows. In the comparing methods of encoding, the difference between their high-pass filters for the pre-process makes that the speech quality in the G.729 is better than that in the G.723.1.
