This paper simply discusses the present situation of our country's engineering geological investigation and design in resent years and the status quo of GIS application in engineering geological investigation.It points out that,with the help of GIS technology,building the management system of engineering geological investigation information can lead to comprehensive and effective management of engineering geological information.Meanwhile,it talks about the system construction and module design and some critical problems of technology in the system In the end,the application prospect of GIS in engineering geological investigation is also covered in the paper.
