THE DISCRIMINATION OF LIQUEFACTION OF SAND DURING EARTHQUAKE USING MODIFIED EVOLUTION GENETIC ALGORITHM

Ming Wang · Journal of Geological Hazards and Environment Preservation · 2000

Based on Darwin's theory of evolution, new operators of crossover and mutation are presented in modified evolution genetic algorithm(EGA),which makes it obtain better global convergence. Liquefaction of sand during earthquake is a kind of greatly dangerous hazard and has relation to many facts.Using modified evolution genetic algorithm ,discrimination model is established according to earthquake intensity, soil diameter, relative density ,standard penetration value, effective normal stress.Compared with the field conditions, the model performs well in discrimination of liquefaction of sand.
