Study on Conversion of Fault Tree to Causality Diagram

Both fault tree and causality diagram are able to express causation by digraph,and both are usually applied to diagnose and analyze system fault.It is important to discuss the conversion of fault tree to causality diagram because of a strong resemblance between fault tree and causality diagram.This research is useful to extend application of causality diagram.A method to convert fault tree into causality diagram is proposed in this paper after the concepts and symbols of causality diagram and fault tree are analyzed.Its result indicates that fault tree which has and gate,or gate,prohibiting gate and voter gate can be converted into causality diagram.It means that fault to be diagnosed by the fault tree can be diagnosed by causality diagram.
