Application level multicast system based on overlay network

An Application Level Multicast System(ALMS) based on overlay network was proposed. ALMS was built based on Pastry,a peer-to-peer object location and routing substrate overlaid on the Internet. It enhanced its reliability with the support of the self-organization property of Pastry. ALMS was proxy-based and its group management and member management were in a centralized way. ALMS considered delay and bandwidth bound when constructing multicast tree and could apply to real-time multicast application.
