General similarity based approximate reasoning method

Current similarity based approximate reasoning methods (SBARs) have various views on similarity relations and neglect the effect of dissimilarity relations. A general SBAR (GSBAR) was developed which included the modifying function, the synthesizing function, and the result transforming function of similarity relations. The approximation ability of GSBAR was proved and an illustrative example was given. The result shows that GSBAR includes the definition of similarity relations and considers both similarity relations and dissimilarity relations.
