Yuqiu Hu · Building Science · 2010
In this paper, stalks of wheat were used to make compressed bricks, and the bricks were placed into the hollow fibre concrete block to form the stalk fibre concrete block. And then, intension and thermal insulation performance of hollow fibre concrete block were tested, also the thermal insulation test of stalk fibre concrete block was carried out.The experimental results indicated that the mean 28 d compressive strength was 9.51 MPa and mean bending strength was 1.8 MP for the hollow fibre concrete block, the thermal insulation coefficients of hollow fibre concrete block and stalk fibre concrete block was 1.57 W /(m2·K) and 1.08 W /(m2·K) respectively.Stalk concrete block could meet the requirements of intension and had better thermal insulation performance.
