Spectrum sensing in clustered wireless sensor networks

Yunyue Yang · Digital Communication · 2013

Wireless sensor networks have many nodes, only relying on the band which the spectrum resource management mechanism assigned will led to spectrum resources in short supply. Arming to this problem, this paper introduces the cognitive radio technology into clustered wireless sensor networks. Considering the energy constrained problem, this paper puts forward an energy-efficient spectrum sensing scheme. This scheme, firstly, makes the nodes in cluster take double-threshold cooperative spectrum sensing method, reduce the number of nodes which send the perception results and lower system energy consumption. Secondly, this scheme optimizes the life cycle of the cluster from selecting proper nodes to perceive the spectrum.
