Research and Prevent Sybil Attackt in P2P Networks

Yuefei Zhu · Microelectronics & Computer · 2006

Because of the open and anonymous nature of P2P networks, it leads to abuse of the networks to counterfeit many identities which is called Sybil Attack. For eliminating this threat, we put forward a computable puzzle: the brute-force reversal of a one-way function and a authentication scheme to validate the new identities, impose a cost into the network which makes users unable to creat new identities easily and prevent from the attack.
