Shi Dingxu's monograph Chomsky's Theory of Syntax:Its Evolution and Latest Development consists of four chap-ters and systematically introduces Generative Grammar's four decades of evolution and its latest development,ranging from the Standard Theory to the Minimalist Program.This thesis intends to make a brief review of this book.After a brief intro-duction to its contents,this thesis summarizes some characteristics of this book,and points out some of its problems.
