Study of HIV/AIDS relevant IEC information for drug users

OBJECTIVE To develop IEC information for drug users to prevent HIV/AIDS. METHODS After investigating 377 drug users’ awareness and impact rates of HIV/AIDS relevant knowledge/information,IECI model was used to analyze all the IECI information. RESULTS The drug users who did attend methadone treatment preferred HIV/AIDS epidemic situation among drug users. While who did not attend methadone treatment preferred information about safe injection and how to get clean needles. CONCLUSION IECI should be taken into consideration when screening effective information for drug users’ HIV/AIDS health education.
