Digital Canal of the Middle Route of South-to-North Water Diversion Project

The main channel of the Middle Route Project of South-to-North Water Transfer has a long route, a vast water supply district and numerous water-diverting outlets along the channel, hydraulic feature and response time and sensitive to operation are most important problems for engineer designing and operating. Both spatial and attribute data of the water diversion project related are managed based on RDBMS. Four computation models for hydraulic calculating the channel flow of the whole channel reaches are developed and integrated with TGIS. Under the digital canal platform, the water transfer capability, canal operation responsibility and canal performance can be fulfilled. The integrated digital canal can be used for the engineering design, project management and water supply regulation.
