Advances in Radio Transmission Technologies for the Third Generation Mobile Communication System

This paper introduces the study,development and standarization process of the 3rd generation mobile communication system both in local area and international level,summaries the candidate proposals of the radio transmission technologies (RTT) submitted to ITU,and discusses the advantages,features and new technologies of the W CDMA RTT proposal.
