Papermaking Process of the Surface Layer of Kraft Paperboard with High Water-Resistance

The papermaking process of the surface layer of kraft paperboard with high water-resistance was investigated,the paper sizing degree and permeability against hot water with di?erent sizing agent dosage was analyzed.e results showed that the application of PAE and AKD positively increased the sizing degree on top sides,and always higher than that on the other side.ere were sharp increases in the resistance against hot water,sizing degree of top sides and Cobb value,with AKD,PAE dosages up to 90,110 kg per ton paper.erefore the dosages were at least up to 90,110 kg per ton paper in order to meet customer requirements. However in despite of the dosages of AKD and PAE,paper are sensitive to water at 40℃,and the paper permeability against hot water is entirely due to water temperature,slightly depending upon the ambient temperature.
