Using Genetic Algorithm to Optimize the Membership Function of the Fuzzy Variables

While designing the fuzzy controller, it is very important to determine the fuzzy rules and to choose the membership function of fuzzy variables . The shape and covering range of a fuzzy membership function will affect the fuzzy reasoning significantly. Using genetic algorithm to determine the covering range of the linguistic variables under the condition that the known fuzzy rules are discussed in this paper.
