Essential Spectrum of Off-diagonal Operator Matrices and Application

Essential spectrum of off-diagonal operator matrices of the form H=(0BC0) is studied.A connection is estabtished between the essential spectrum of the product operators of H's inner elements Band Cand the essential spectrum of H.As an application,the essential spectrum of Hamiltonian operator matrix which is derived from the plate bending equation is discussed.
