Image restoration based on differential approximation

Jiwen Wang · Information technology newsletter · 2007

Image inpainting is the problem of filling holes in images.Considerable progress has been made by techniques that use the immediate boundary of the hole and some prior information in images to solve this problem. Most restoration techniques published in the literatures are complex to understand and implement. This paper proposed a new algorithm for image restoration based on spatial continuity and differential approximation. The algorithm can restore small-scale regions and is very simple to implement fast restoration.
