Shendu and the Moral Construction of Network
Kang Xiao-qing · Journal of Chongqing Petroleum College · 2003
Computer network has brought immeasurable advantages and benefits to the life of human beings; at the same time, it has had great impact on the traditional ethics and moralities. The characteristics of Network--unrealistic, open, mutual and covert--have caused some social problems such as hackers and network fornication, which has furnished a seedbed for moral nihilism and free anarchism. According to the characteristics of Network, Shendu will become the important means to regulate network morality. The realization of Shendu required that the individuals using network have a new understanding about social morality and personal morality so as to make their own deeds enslaved to public benefits. Shendu can make for the realization of justice and fairness in social network. Network lawmaking is the external guarantee for network individuals to realize Shendu.
