Automatic Drawing of Lightning Density Contours Based on ArcEngine

Automatic drawing of lightning density contours is realized by using ArcEngine and Eclispe RCP technology for the first time. Simultaneously,the idea of dimension reduction is used for counting lightning density. The automatic extracting steps of lightning density contours are designed,and the main ideas and the key codes about automatic drawing contours are given based on ArcEngine. Three common interpolation algorithms are applied. A large number of lightning data are processed by oracle database. Meanwhile,the introduction of the Job background task processing mechanism can avoid the fake deathphenomenon in the process. Inverse distance weighted interpolation( IDW)method is used for automatically drawing the lightning density contours,based on lightning data of Wuhan area as a test.The result shows that it has a strong practicality and reference value for related research and business in lightning protection.
