Basic study on metadata sharing of urban underground pipes

To meet the demand of underground pipe database management and the geographic information sharing, this paper studies the underground pipe metadata’s standard and its content, in the mean while, designs the content of a metadata management system, and provides a new idea and method for underground pipe data’s management and sharing. It can solve some problems during the course of building UPIS, such as, be difficulty in maintaining data, non-data sharing, etc., and make the data producer provide metadata in time.
