Analysis of the Problems in Writing Specification Abstracts of the Sci-Tech Paper

The abstracts of 2000 scientific papers from 400 issues of 100 sorts of sci-tech periodicals issued publicly in the Journal Ful1-text Database of China Knowledge Network in 2007,were selected randomly to analyze the writing specification based on the Rules for Abstracts and Abstracting(GB6447-86,Chinese standard).The results showed that the abstracting spot-checked in 15 of the 100 issues sorts met the requirements of the standard,while the other 85 did not.The problems were as follows,the subjects in the beginning of the abstracts were superfluous,there were common knowledge of the study field,obscurity to the four elements of the informative articles,self-evaluation,citation and the citing forms were not unified.The countermeasures to overcome the problems are suggested to enlarge propaganda for authors,guarantee the editing quality for sci-tech journals editors by learning hard to improve their skills,put full play to the function for authority departments.
