An Improved Phase Differential Algorithm for SFR Velocity Measurement

Presently,the velocity measurement in frequency stepped radar is based on phase differential algorithm.This article first analyses the original algorithm and proofs it's deficiency in calculation and error assessment.Then an improved algorithm calculating phase difference after compression is put forward.Futher the influence of its velocity estimation on the ranging error is analyzed.At last,the method to use least waveform entropy to reduce this influence is presented.Simulation results show its effectiveness.
