Optimized Design of Nearly-Perfect Reconstruction IIR Cosine Modulated Filter Banks
Yin Shishu · Modern Electronics Technique · 2010
An efficient method is proposed for designing nearly perfect reconstruction(NPR) cosine modulated filter banks(CMFBs) with IIR prototype filters.Based on some given poles values, the design problem is formulated as a convex minimax optimization problem, and solved by second order core programming(SOCP) .The obtained NPR IIR CMFB has good frequency performance and a reasonably low reconstruction error. The proposed IIR prototype filter is causal and stable, and its polyphase components have identical denominator to simplify the perfect reconstruction(PR) condition. Thus, the proposed NPR CMFBs can be further optimized to obtain PR systems.
