Rapid Pedestrian Detection with Vertical-view Camera

A novel and rapid method for monocular pedestrian detection with a vertical-view camera was proposed.Based on the symmetry or asymmetry of head(or head and shoulder) in the space distribution,which could be calculated by integral images,pedestrian heads could be estimated quickly in a vertical-view image,combined with regional characteristics of uniform color in a head.The experiment shows a promising result.
