The resolution and angular precision of the MUSIC algorithm are limited by factors such as its signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) and the number of snapshots. To solve this problem,a direction of arrival(DOA) estimation algorithm based on delay preprocessing was proposed which used the DOA information contained in the delay correlation function of the received data. This algorithm used the delay correlation function of all the received data to construct a new array matrix.Next,a new covariance matrix was received by the new array matrix, then eigenvalue decomposition was applied, and the noise subspace was received. In order to simplify the spectrum function and peak searching of the spectrum function, the mutative scale chaos optimization algorithm was used.Simulation results show that the angular precision and resolution performance of the proposed algorithm are better than those from the MUSIC algorithm, and the computing time is reduced.
