Employment of Oversampling and Shaped Function for Improving Detection Sensitivity

Ling Lin · Journal of Tianjin University Science and Technology · 2010

A method to improve the sensor’s detection sensibility was proposed, which employed the oversampling and shaped function technique for the sensor to have better detection of weak signals.First, the principle of this technique was analyzed.Secondly, the method was verified by an experimental study on optoelectric sensor. In the experiment,an optical shaped function signal was imposed upon the sensor, combined with the faint optical signal. After oversampling, the obtained data shows that this method can improve optoelectric sensor’s resolving power effectively. This provides a feasible measure for the detection of faint signal. It has also opened a new path to upgrade the sensor’s resolution and detection sensitivity.
