Chinese and English Word Similarity Measure Based on Chinese WordNet

A method for measuring similarity of Chinese and English words based on Chinese WordNet is introduced.In the hypernym relative graph of synonym set(synset),the factors of distance,density and depth are used to measure the similarity of synset,and the weight of the combination pairs of the two words' synset is settled in adaptive mode.An algorithm that can measure English-English,Chinese-English and Chinese-Chinese word similarity has been implemented.Experiment results show that the similarities measured by the proposed algorithm accord with the judgment of the people.
