March Inspired Geographic Routing Protocol in Wireless Sensor Networks

Weijia Jia · Chuangan jishu xuebao · 2007

In order to save the limited energy of the sensors,a n ovel geographic routing protocol called March Inspired Geographic(MIG)routing protocol is proposed for “many to one” communications in wireless sensor netwo rks. With the proposed protocol, the packet can avoid meeting the “hole” in ad vance instead of bypassing the hole after it meets the hole.So this protocol de creases both the routing distance and energy consumption.Simulation studies sho w that this protocol can construct the route very fast with less energy consumpt ion and achieves short routing distance,so it can be used for large-scale wire less sensor networks.
