Implementation of Port-based VLAN in Ethernet Switch

At present applications of Ethernet switch is very wide.To satisfy the needs of various customers,it is urgent for network services to solve the problems of broadcast domains,bandwidth and security.So a new kind of technology which is VLAN emerged.This paper firstly describes the general knowledge of VLAN.Then,taking a switching chip as an example and linking the IEEE 802.1Q,the realization of port-based VLAN,namely the detailed process of data frames was discussed.
