Novel coding scheme for robust distributed data retrieval in storage grid

In order to ensure data availability in storage grid,this paper proposed a novel concatenated code scheme that combined RS code and LT code for distributed data.The RS code and LT code promoted each other, realizing error correcting and erasure correcting at the same time,which was hard to be realized using any of RS code or LT code. The results of simulation indicate that the RS-LT concatenated code can improve the LT code correctly decoding probability and the scheme is effective in improving data availability with limited increase of system costs.
