Discussion on the Application of AIS and LRIT in Research and Rescue at Sea

The GMDSS equipment is the most commonly used method to obtain and transfer the research and rescue(RAR) information by the main maritime organization of various countries,but the method is not satisfactory in practice.The paper analyzed about the technology principle and functions of AIS and LRIT equipped onboard,and discussed about the important role and advantage of AIS and LRIT to get and transfer the RAR information.The work verified that AIS and LRIT can be applied to get and transfer RAR information.
