Analysis of Buffer Overflow Attacks and Defenses

Buffer overflow attacks are always primary methods which crackers implement attacks. Comparing with other methods, buffer overflow attack is fatal. The paper analyses how crackers or hackers implement buffer overflow attacks, and then analyzes simply the mechanism of statically detecting and run-time solutions to buffer overflow attacks. In the end of the paper, the author summarizes some advantages and disadvantages for run-time solution and static solution.
