The Reflexivity of Informatics——in Comparison with Natural Sciences
Chen Wen-yong · Information Sciences · 2007
Both informatics knowledge and natural science knowledge have reflexivity. However, there is an obvious distinction between the two kinds of reflexivity. The reflexivity of informatics is plentiful and direct while the reflexivity of natural sciences is scarce and indirect;the former not only influences the direction and consequences of researches but also changes theoretical propositions proper, while the latter limits its influence merely to the reflection of the consequences of knowledge application, and the researches on which are rela- tively independent of the society.Since informatics have more influencing reflexivity,we should advance with the time when we pursue research in informatics; while natural science also has its reflexivity,we should take it s social influence into account accordingly and try to be a knowledge producer with social responsibility.
