Fast matching algorithm based on the pixel extraction

A novel fast m atching algorithm based on pixel extraction was proposed. The general principle how to determine the pixel extraction number N was introduced. And the relations among N and correct matching ratio, matching time, the size of the real -time images were discussed in this paper. In the algorithm, the real-time image and reference image were partitioned in regular grid so as to eliminate the redundancy information of images. It would greatly improve algorithm efficiency. The simulation experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is over 1/10 more efficient than the product correlation algorithm under the same correct matching rate. Moreover, when the size of reference image is fixed, the lager the size of the real-time images is, the higher the proposed algorithm′s efficiency will be, ever more than the two-level pyramid decomposing accelerating method.
