A New Teaching Idea about Programming in C

From contents, methods, links and soft environment of teaching this paper analyzes problems currently existing in the teaching programming in C++, and then presents a new teaching idea which primarily aims to cultivate programming ability for students. The idea, which organizes contents of teaching from learning the use of C++ language, developing simple programs to developing programs for solving difficult problems, hence to developing software on some large scale, will combine corresponding computer knowledge and guide students to construct a self-contained software knowledge system. According to properties of contents, different teaching methods will be flexibly used to optimize overall teaching results. After the course is completed, research-based course design will be set for students to efficiently promote their transitions from mastering the use of C++ language to applying it to solve realistic problems.
