Discussion on Compression Methods of Medical Images

Objective To discuss the compression methods of medical images.Methods According to the features of CT and MRI images,this essay pointed out that special compression methods should be used,which were different from JPEG or JPEG 2000.Results The new special compression methods could meet the requirements better.Conclusions JPEG and JPEG 2000 could not be used for all types of medical images compression.Appropriater compression methods should be used according to the features of different medical images.
