Design optimization and management of WLAN are different from wired LAN.According to the characteristics of IEEE 802.11bWLAN and author's work experience, this article mainly discusses some issues about the design optimization of WLAN, such as how to locate APs and assign frequency.This article also analysis the advantage and disadvantage of different monitoring and controlling technologies,and then introduces the schemes some of which have been developed in our WLAN management system.
