Task allocation model for sensor networks based on multi-objective optimization

Jisong Kou · Journal of systems engineering · 2011

Task allocation significantly affects the performance and quality of service of sensor networks due to severe resource constraint of sensor nodes. In this paper, system delay, energy consumption and network equilibrium are considered as optimization objective, and a multi-objective task allocation model for sensor networks is established.Meanwhile,multi-objective coordinating optimization strategy is also applied to constitute the objective function to effectively trade off different objectives.Further, critical path method is used to explore communication route, and the optimal solution of task allocation is eventually achieved with a genetic algorithm, which thereby furthest improves the network efficiency. Finally, extensive simulation results are provided to demonstrate that the proposed model and algorithm are correct and effective.
